Scope Planning

	create Scope Management Plan
	documents how Project Scope will be defined, verified and controlled
	describe how WBS will be created

 

Scope Definition

	develop a detailed Project Scope Statement
	what is and is not included in the project
	Stakeholder Management - the Project Manager must identify and the stakeholders, determine their needs and expectations, then manage and influence their expectations to ensure project success

 

Create WBS

	subdivide project deliverables into smaller and more manageable components (decomposition)
	the lowest level should be a work package that can be assigned to an individual or business unit
	WBS can be created by Chronological order or Functional units

 

Scope Verification

	verify that the work done satisfies the scope of the project
	must be done at the end of each project phase
	documents  those completed deliverables that have been accepted
	take note this process is not about verifying the project scope but the works  to be       done against the project plan and project scope management plan.

 

Scope Control

	influence the factors that create project scope changes
	control the impact of  the requested changes

	Most Change Requests are the result of an external event; a problem in the project and value adding to the business need.

 

Project Success depends primarily on Customer Satisfaction, so manage the Project Scope seriously.
